Set Lists

I received a question via email recently pertaining to Neil Young, and insinuating that I hate him. I have no idea where the writer would get such an idea, other than perhaps the chapter of my book (Necronomican: The Deathpool Dave Story) entitled “That Dick Neil Young” and the song on my CD (Necrology) called Whinin’ and Complainin’- done to a NY song, of course. But I don’t hate Neil – in fact I am quite a fan. I just got a little mad at him when I paid huge bucks for a ticket to see him and he played his entire new CD from start to finish, and then only two old songs. The f**king thing hadn’t even been released yet – there was no way to hear it prior to the concert. And, as it turns out, it was that piece of s**t Greendale project. What a blithering pile of self indulgent egocentricity. Why is it that artists fail to even remotely consider the desires of those footing the bill and paying for their services? It’s not complicated, so bands – pay attention! Lead off with a few of the songs that got you to the dance and that everyone wants to hear. Then throw in some deep cuts that you don't play often to please your hardcore fans. Add two or three of the best songs from your new record to promote it and so that everyone knows that you are not just a nostalgia act. We'll buy the record - you know we will! End with a few of your biggest hits. Everyone happy! How f**king difficult is that to comprehend? WE DON’T WANT TO HEAR NOTHING BUT NEW S**T! Stop trying to prove something and instead just please the crowd and give the people their moneys worth. After all, money is awful hard to get these days.

Young is just one of those arrogant assholes that thinks that every fart that comes out of his body is art that needs to be expressed to society. He hasnt been relavent in years and I wish someone would tell him that. He has some good songs - he should play them and stop pretending to be some type of activist.
