Spike Lee has inferred that Clint Eastwood is racist because he did not include any blacks in his films ‘Letters From Iwo Jima’ and ‘Flags Of Our Fathers.’ He is correct of course, but has only scratched the surface of Eastwood’s sins. For instance - there were thousands and thousands of soldiers on Iwo Jima, and clearly some of them were gay. Eastwood did not depict of these men in a gay-friendly manner and is therefore clearly homophobic. And obviously some of them were Jewish - his refusal to portray these men as the brave Jews that they were is clear evidence of his anti-Semitism. And where were the Muslims? The complete absence of Islam from these films is typical Arab-bashing in the post 9/11 world, and Eastwood should be ashamed of himself. And what about the gypsies? Is he trying to say that gypsies didn’t exist in the 1940s? Apparently in Eastwood’s world there is no such thing as a slightly tanned Protestant with a mild limp that wheezes from allergies! And history is quite clear on the fact that there was at least one lesbian midget with a golden shower foot fetish that enjoyed spanking on that island, and Eastwood refused to even mention that historically significant fact!
