Metal Heads

Most people have a musical preference; that is, a style or type of music that they prefer or enjoy. But metal heads are different. Being a metal head is part personal philosophy, part religion… more of an attitude and an approach to life than a mere musical preference. Perhaps most importantly metal heads share a bond that is truly worldwide. It doesn’t matter where in the world you reside – America, Europe, Asia… metal heads share a brotherhood. It is the home of misfits and outcasts everywhere – a place we can all go to belong and be welcomed.

Last night I was in the front row for Motorhead, Black Sabbath, and Judas Priest – the inventors and true giants of metal. I shook the hands of Ronnie James Dio and Geezer Butler. Phil Campbell and Lemmy Kilmeister each gave me a guitar pick. KK Downing and Rob Halford high fived me… My mentors, my inspiration. That is akin to a Christian hanging with Jesus, Moses and Abraham for an evening…

If you are not a metal head it will sound like I had a good time at a concert. If you are, you know that for one brief evening I dwelt amongst the immortals…
